SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT

We build the missing link

Most of our projects start in the same place: two systems that do not communicate, or a spreadsheet no one dares to change. We build the integrations and tools that eliminate the manual work in between.

The challenge

Some tasks have been manual for so long that no one questions them anymore

  • Data moved manually between disconnected systems
  • Spreadsheets turned into workflows no one dares to modify
  • Compliance data stored where no one sees it
  • An employee tied to a routine task they are overqualified for

The solution

A tool that handles the tedious work

  • Integrations that automatically transfer data between systems
  • A tool built around the workflow — not the other way around
  • Data in PLM, where it can inform decisions
  • Time returned to the core tasks competencies were hired for

SOUND FAMILIAR?

Four signs that something is worth building

The spreadsheet no one dares touchIt works. But only one person knows how, and it is documented nowhere.
Double data entryThe same data lives in two places because the systems do not communicate.
The manual reportEvery month, someone compiles figures manually because they cannot be extracted directly.
Data that never arrivesThe information exists in a system — just not where the decision is made.

project types

Three solutions we have developed

System integrations

We connect your tools: ECAD and PLM, PLM and ERP, your design data and the systems running the rest of the company. This is our most frequent type of project.

Automation of manual processes

Everything currently handled in a spreadsheet or through manual copy-pasting across systems. We build the tool that automates it — fully, or by handling the bulk of the task while assisting with the rest.

Structured outputs and data extraction

Data stored in your systems, but not in a usable format. We extract it, structure it, and deliver it in the format required by the recipient.

use case

BOM Trawler

At one of our customers, an employee spent hours matching components from a purchased BOM against the database. Manually. In a spreadsheet. This had been the routine for years, and no one considered it an issue — that was simply how the task was done.

BOM Trawler imports any BOM into CIP and automatically matches manufacturer components that have a unique match. Where multiple matches or no matches exist, the tool guides the user in resolving them and creating the missing items.

The repetitive part of the work is eliminated. The complex part is supported with clear choices rather than guesswork. Originally developed for one customer, the tool is now used by many others.

THE PROCESS

You know what you are getting before we begin

1. We understand the task

It typically begins with a dialogue with one of our specialists or technical account managers. From there, we identify the root challenge and outline what a practical solution looks like. This may involve meetings, technical documents, and clarifying questions.

2. We document the scope

We prepare a Statement of Work detailing what will be delivered. For larger projects, this becomes a complete technical specification describing the tool and its exact functionality. This specification serves as the formal agreement and the benchmark against which delivery is verified.

3. We build

During development, we often require specific inputs: data, schematics, libraries, or system access. Everything required is clearly defined in the specification to prevent unexpected roadblocks.

4. We deliver

In some cases, we handle the installation. In others, the customer prefers a deployment package to install internally. The project is delivered once it meets all acceptance criteria defined in the agreement.

5. Post-delivery

We provide support for code defects within the scope outlined in the agreement. If the tool is custom-built for your organisation, updates are made only upon request as a new project. If it is one of our standard tools, you will be notified whenever a new release is available.

Scope

From a script to an integration across three systems

The smallest task we have solved was a small script for the right-click menu in OrCAD Capture, allowing properties to be set on multiple components or nets at once. A few hours of work that removes an annoying routine every week.

The largest has been an integration across three systems simultaneously.

There is virtually no lower limit worth speaking of. If you have a routine that causes friction, feel free to ask — even if it seems too small to spend anyone's time on.

Ready?

Ready to design with peace of mind?

A brief conversation is usually enough to clarify whether your task is something we can build. No pitch. No pressure. Just an open discussion about the routine causing you friction.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Frequently asked questions

It depends on the scope. Tasks range from a script taking a few hours to an integration across three systems. Before we begin, we outline in a Statement of Work what you are purchasing, ensuring you know the exact scope before the work starts.

Probably not. The smallest task we have solved was a script for the right-click menu in OrCAD Capture. If you have a routine that causes friction, feel free to ask, even if it seems too small.

Typically ECAD and PLM, PLM and ERP, or your design data and the systems used across the rest of the company. Whether your specific systems can be connected is clarified during the initial conversation.

Along the way, we often need data, schematics, libraries, or access to systems. Exactly what is required will be specified in the documentation, so there are no surprises midway through.

We agree on that together. Sometimes we handle the installation ourselves, and other times the customer prefers to receive a package and manage the installation internally.

We provide support for code errors, with the exact scope defined in the agreement. If the tool is built specifically for you, new versions are only released when you request them. If it is one of our standard tools, you will be notified whenever a new version is available.
