The method must not be confined to a single person's mind

Once the setup has been documented and the templates are shared, a calculation can be repeated by someone else—even six months later, and even by someone new.

The challenge

It costs you time and money

  • Setups that exist in only one head
  • Two calculations based on the same geometry that do not yield the same result
  • No documentation when someone asks six months later
  • Support responses that take days

The solution

We give you control back

  • Templates and scripts that can be shared and version-controlled
  • Documented boundary conditions, so that the assumptions are clear
  • Consistent data format across tools and colleagues
  • Local hotline with responses from a specialist on the same day

method

What Sets a Method Apart from a Habit

1. The setup must be able to be written down

Initial conditions, choice of model, and what has been deliberately omitted. What is not documented is not a method—it is simply something people tend to do.

2. Templates Instead of Reinventing the Wheel

Glyph scripting turns a meshing strategy into something that can be shared, version-controlled, and reused, rather than something each person builds from scratch in their own way.

3. New colleagues shouldn't have to start from scratch

A documented method also serves as training material. That’s the difference between getting to know the tool and learning how to use it.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

In short: what’s needed so that someone else can repeat the calculation without having to ask. Boundary conditions, model selection, meshing parameters, and the simplifications that were intentionally made. Scripts are self-documenting to a certain extent, and the rest is one page of text per task type—not a manual.

Test on a known problem before you transfer everything over. If you have a documented reference calculation with a known result, it takes a morning to determine whether anything has changed. Without one, it’s just guesswork, and that’s one of the best reasons to have one.

We advise you on what’s worth writing down and how others have approached it—and we train your staff on how to use the tools. The method itself must be your own, because you’re the ones who need to be able to stand behind it when someone asks.

The fastest way is to combine your own templates with training on the tool. We can handle the latter; the former is what this page is all about. Experience shows that anyone who is given a working setup rather than a blank installation can get up and running on their own in a fraction of the time.
